I’m content with the next best thing: Beauty subscription boxes!💁
Ever made the mistake of buying a skincare product that didn’t agree with your skin? *Guilty*
Ever wanted to test out a foundation without having to pay for a whole bottle? Ditto
In a perfect world, we would all be able to test out products guilt-free but for now, I’m content with the next best thing: beauty subscription boxes.
For beauty product hoarders and beauty obsessives who love to experiment, like myself, there’s a lot to love about beauty subscription services. They are convenient, fun, an affordable method to try the hottest trends in makeup, skincare, haircare, and beyond and you’ve got to admit, nothing brings pure happiness than receiving a surprise beauty haul delivered right at your doorstep and Middle East’s OG beauty subscription box – Glambox – has stood strong against a number of neatly packaged goodies that have graced my vanity.
With its themed box covers, Glambox is a fun way to try beauty products I would not usually buy and I have made some great discoveries over the past year like the Lush Mask of Magnaminty, Missha’s Time Revolution Essence, Soap & Glory’s Flake Away body scrub to name a few. It is also an inexpensive method to try new things at a fraction of the price and at AED 90 a month you can seriously build an arsenal of beauty products that anyone would want to rummage through and play with.
I am a long time ‘Glamista’ and witnessed its growth in terms of brand and product offerings, vouchers and packaging and I have to admit the curation has been consistently good in the last two years. Love that some boxes have been brand exclusive like the Boots Pharmacy, Soap and Glory and Elemis and out of the 6 items in the box, there is always a minimum of three products that I can use. The rest go in my big beauty box for random goodie bags to family and friends or for Christmas hampers.
Lastly, as someone who tries new beauty products on a monthly basis, I like that I can try a product for a week or so, decide if I like it and then throw away an empty bottle. I also re-use the boxes as storage compartments in my vanity. So it’s really a win-win situation at all turns with Glambox.
The only caveat? Making room on your vanity for all the new stuff.
