What You Need to Know About Clinique’s New Pollution Combating Formula

Here, Dr. Tom Mammone, executive director of Skin Physiology and Pharmacology at Clinique Research & Development Worldwide, answered all the questions we had about the new Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly.
Where did the concept for Clinique’s Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly come from?
It was conceptualized as a response to recent research that highlighted the damaging effects of pollution on the skin. Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly actually protects the skin against environmental insults – it gives 87% protection against particulates and pollution in the environment. This protection, along with its hydrating properties, slows down the aging of the skin and will delay the onset of wrinkles, fine lines, and hyper-pigmentation.
How does it differ to the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel?
The main difference is that the Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly gives the strongest protection against pollution. It also has slightly stronger hydrating properties than the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel. It’s made using Clean Shield Technology, a set of polymers which builds a barrier on the skin. We discovered that pollution damages the skin barrier which is our ability to inhibit things getting into the skin. Clean Shield Technology is a small set of polymers and molecules which serve as an armor to the skin.
Which skin types is Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly perfect for?
It is designed to be used for all skin types and layered with serums and moisturizers if required. It is very versatile and can be slotted into all skincare regimens. All Clinique products are free from parabens, phthalates, and fragrance which makes for happy skin.
